Ok, got the gold card coming so they will treat me at the hospital. Usually takes about 3 weeks, but they think I will get approved tomorrow.
When I started this blog I had the intentions of a long discovery trip. Well with the cancer now and not haveing any answers, kind of on hold. Someone is sending me a camera so pictures should be soon.
So is this a blog about a cancer patient or RVing full time. Well looks like it is both now.
To night I am staying at a crackle barrel. They even have special rv parking. Very nice. Went over to a friends house and cooked some chili verde. Ummmm.  Living in an rv is a different lifestyle. Made me a swamp cooler yesterday. Works good at night but not between 3 and 6 in the afternoon. Got a small job to do next week and will get my generator working. Then next air conditioning. I'll be walking in some tall cotton then. As my circumstances have changed by joy in boondocking has not. Talking about living in the moment. When I'm hungry I cook, might even take a nap afterwards. In no hurry to get there if you know what I mean. I am meeting intersting people along the way. 0 stress!
It's Monday night the 2nd 2014
Good night

Is it really free???

Just got out of the hospital. Found out I have cancer.
This is what happen today when they released me after 3 days in Hermann hospital and one day in. Tomball  hospital.
Have you ever called for something free and found out later there was a charge. Or clicked on something free on the internet only to be re-directed to a place to enter your credit card number? That best describes my experience at Houston Hermann Hospital.
My nurse came into my room and told me I was going to be discharged. So I asked her could I talk to someone to find out about my health. Looking kind of puzzled, she finally said she would get a hold of the doctor and have her come by. So my nurse called the primary doctor in who's care I was under. She came into my room with a phone and a big smile. ( the nurses there were the best ever) the doctor told me I had cancer and that I needed to see another kind of doctor. So I need to get their gold card and then  call and make an appointment with the doctor on the list. I asked if she could give me an idea how my health was. I have some des ions  to make. She simply told me she was not qualified to tell me that. I told her how I have not even seen the film of the CT. Test. Is it a big tumor or a small. Again she repeated " I'm sorry I am not qualified to say. Just get the gold card and then see this specialist. Can I answer any more questions, my money is on no I said. She asked what and I told her thank you and have a good day.
My nurse asked what she said and I told her. She said don't leave yet I will get someone to talk to you. After an hour went by, here she came. Introduced Linda to me she let me ask a couple of question then she responded with. Your number one priority is the gold card then go see this specialist.  Then asked if I had anymore questions.
I responded: ok I think I understand now. Soon as I get the gold card then I can get my questions answered. And if I do not get a gold card I will not find out how my health is. She kind of shrugged her shoulders and agreed. That's when I stood up and asked if I was discharged yet, she smiled and said yes you can leave now. I thanked her. I said I think I have heard enough and I am ready to leave...

No Walmart tonight.

Well I'm right on the lake in my MH, couple miles from the job. Just had dinner. In this short time I have been a fulltimer ( someone who lives in rv fulltime)
From the way I drive, ( I try to get good gas milage.) not having any stress. Living in the moment. Right here right now I want for nothing, right here right now is the only time God can speak to us. Most of the time our heads are so filled with our fears of the future and the regrets of the past. Which usually means we are afraid of not getting what we want or losing something we got. When I am living in the moment I notice people I would not have normally notice.
My thinking is that we all get the same amount of miracles from God. The problem is most people do not notice theirs and simply walk right by. Totally missing out what He intended them to have. Some one asked me a few years ago if I believe in miracles, I just smiles and said: I rely on them. For the last few years I have been going thru a lot of different feelings. Mainly due to losing my businesses. But since I stepped into this RV those feelings have dissipated. My mind is not a torrent of racing thoughts, jamming the frequency to my connection. Just cooked a pot-roast dinner. Yumm.

Walmart what a store!

I'm another Walmart for tonight in Waco, kinda cool. Just like last night I asked if they were RV friendly. And they said yes. Just took a shower feeling refreshed. Only used 3 bottles of water even to wash and rinse my hair. Yes the plumping has some issues the lights won't come on. I think just need a new house battery. Yes she has a few issues. Bet she is a Gemini. Hopefully I'll work out some at the park.   Got the windows open all the way around. With my eyes closed feels like I'm in La Jolla or Tampa. Went in the store and put a few things in my fridge. Tomorrow morning in the parking lot you will be able to smell the aroma of not only coffee but also sausage and eggs. Tomorrow I will check into the RV resort. Hook up the lights, plumbing, ect. Free cable, wifi, showers, club house, pool and a lake if I remember correctly. 300 per month. I can stay right on the ocean for 300 a month. I'm digging this rv thing.

First night in a Walmart.

Well, boondocking at Walmart tonight. What a day, went to 4 different U-haul's today. Had to pickup my scaffolding by 5, got there 4:59...
Then had to go back to U-haul to get them to hook up my lights on the trailer. But everything I needed to get accomplished did. So it was a good day, just a tad frustrating.
Between the Motorhome and the trailer I am 44 feet long.
Just had dinner at Panda Express. Wasn't that good but it was in the parking lot. My bedroom is very comfee in the rv. Pretty cool how Walmart is RV friendly.
So I will go drop all this scaffolding at the job in Waco tomorrow. Then find me an RV resort.

Orientation tomorrow at 10:30

Went buy camping world in Katy today. I asked one girl if it would be possible to have someone show me around my new 1974 GMC Motorhome. She just looked at me and told me how busy they were and they could not be able to do anything for at least a week and a half. Hummm. I then returned to the parts counter where I received my quote for a new air conditioner. I asked about getting the generator gone thru. So he sent me back to service department. Went over to the girl one the end. She gave me the prices for the generator service. I asked her the same question that's when she explained what the orientation was. Not only will they be showing me the operating features but also things that need replaced. What a deal for $59.00
I think this to be about the best investment I could make. I know nothing about one haven't ever been in one until 2weeks ago. Went to ppl and looked at a Safari Trek. You would think they would clean them before they put them up for sale. That was the first motorhome I went inside and "almost" sat on the furniture. Mine was second. Going to go fill up the propane tank before I get there.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, hope to have a new one very soon.

Only broke down twice from Quartzite Arizonian to Houston, TX. Well three times really but I jumped off the solenoid once. Went to Wilcox AZ. to get the truck repaired. He really did not have the time but he did it. Within 3 hours I got the "big" tuneup, oil change, solenoid and was driving off. I stopped and asked a guy at the gas station when I got there and he said go to Jarod's auto and tire. So did another person at circle K. Jarod turned out to be a former fulltimer. 10 years ago he opened up a shop. In Wilcox AZ and has been there ever since. After he told me the price he discounted it. Most people tend to jack the price once they find out your from out of town. I expected a grand which he did all for half that. And had me back on the road by 1:30. So if you are every broke down 81 miles east of  Tucson on I 10. Ask anyone in town where Jarod's auto and tire center and they will tell you.

Got the GMC last night. Took 1 plane and 2 cab rides to get to Quartsite, AZ. Got there about 2 and the owner showed her to me. She truly has only 25,000 miles. He explained some things and answered many questions. Then I gave him the cash which after counting it, Bobby handed me the title. I thanked him and headed off in my almost new 1974 GMC Motorhome. She ran great. I went and filled her up with gas. (Ouch) went back in to get the change from the $300. When I came out I noticed a bunch of gas under her. Which really concerned me, seeing how I was about to jump on 10 and take it all the way to Houston. I called the owner up and he brought a mechanic with him. When I tried to move her way from lake gas she refused. She started fine but soon as I put my foot on the gas it died. Took some time but it was just a gas filter and I cracked gas line that was sucking air. Spent my first night in the GMC. Then headed to Texas.
First I headed to big lots and bought a mattress, sheets and pillows. Did not have a bed in her so only got a little sleep last night.
As for the leaking gas tanks it stopped. Only 1 tank is filling up for some reason. (Double tanks)
Going to get a little sleep then hit the road!
If you are ever in Quartzsite I suggest 2things. First you visit Reader's Oasis Books. There you will find Paul Winer. He is some what a legand with the desert folks, even Jay Leno has went and visited his book store.

In fact many famous people have visited Quartzsite just to see Paul's junk. On a nice day you can see Paul pedaling his bicycle junk and all. Ah the desert life!
The other must not miss in Quartzsite is Bobby, the man I bought my MH from. He brought another mechanic with him and they worked on my MH until about midnight. Not many people would have done the same. He manages an RV park at 145 N. Moon Mountain Road. One of the nicest guys you could meet. So if your going thru there stop and see Paul and Bobby. But make sure you tell them Boondocking Doyle said hello.

The Day Before

Tomorrow is the day. A short term goal realized  on March 27th. I fly out to Phoenix in the morning and then take a greyhound bus to Quartzsite, AZ. There I will purchase a 1974 GMC Motorhome.
